The Government's Community Energy programme has £50 million available for capital expenditure over the next two years for Local Authorities, Registered Social Landlords (RSLs), Hospitals, Universities and other public service organisations. It is managed by the Energy Saving Trust and the Carbon Trust It applies to England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The programme supports the refurbishment of existing, and the installation of new, community heating schemes.
Community Renewables Programe www.countyside.gov.uk The Community Renewables Initiative will help local people and organisations devise and implement renewable energy developments which: are environmentally sensitive; have support of all stakeholders; are appropriate to the circumstances of the locality; link to other diversification and regeneration schemes.
